Greenville, SC - The Men's and Women Cross Country Warriors competed in Furman's 5K Invitational and placed high. The men finished 3rd and the women finished 6th.
How It Happened
Women's 5K
Macey Morgan placed 42nd for the Warriors after running a time of 20:05.03. Following closely behind her, Merritt Smith placed 44rd and Abbey Frock placed 46th. Smith ran a time of 20:30.03 and Frock ran a time of 20:37.39. Janey Dixon placed 53rd after running 21:28.31. Gisselle Lopez ran a time of 22:33.12 which put her in 58th place and Nicole Feagan ran a time of 22:33.12 which placed her 59th. Finishing out for the Warriors, Caroline Lamb ran a time of 26:56.55 and placed 77th, and Braelyn Elrod placed 79th after running a time of 27:24.11.
Men's 5K
Ronan O'Neill placed 15th for the Warriors and was the top Division II finisher in the meet after running a time of 15:22.18. Thomas Macagg followed closely behind running a time of 15:59.96 which placed him 25th. After running a time of 16:24.40 in his first collegiate race, Drew Jones placed 29th for the Warriors. Placing 34th, Josue Avendano ran a time of 16:55.62. Not far behind, Jesse Sauve placed 36th after running a time of 17:02.99. Grayson Gillespie finished 39th after running a time of 17:13.61. Andrew Davis placed 44th for Southern Wesleyan after running a time of 18:07.55. Landon Mayfield placed 47th after running a time of 18:25.69. Finishing up the field for Southern Wesleyan, Louis Trapnell placed 53rd after running a time of 19:35.10 and John Locke placed 57th after running a time of 22:14.01
