Columbia, SC – Southern Wesleyan placed high in the Gamecock Opener on Saturday with
Evan Motes setting a new school record in the Pole Vault.

Track Results
60 Meter Dash: In the preliminaries of the 60 meter dash,
Noah Meadows finished in 16
th with a time of 7.06. Meadows was followed by
Jordan Blue in 38
th with a time of 7.37 and
Calvin Fernandez in 45
th with a time of 7.66. The field was wrapped up by
Alijah Harris, Sam Woods and
Evan Motes. Harris took 50
th with a time of 7.74. He was followed by Woods in 51
st with a time of 7.77 and Motes in 52
nd with a time of 7.83.
400 Meters:
Ludcheel Colas led the Warriors in the 400 meters as his time of 52.90 allowed him to finish in 14
th. Colas was followed by
Aziah Gaskin in 27
th with a time of 57.55 and
Cedric Walker in 29
th with a time of 58.13.
800 Meters: Senior
Peyton Shelton took 15
th in the men's 800 meters with a time of 2:11.59. Shelton was followed by
Casey Frock in 17
th with a time of 2:18.73.
Mile: In the mile,
Josue Avendano took 22
nd with a time of 4:49.51. He was closely followed by
Casey Frock in 23
rd with a time of 4:52.57.
Thomas Macagg and
Jesse Sauve were the next two Warriors to finish. Macagg took 25
th with a time of 5:00.70 and Sauve took 26
th with a time of 5:02.76.
Dane Dickson finished in 28
th with a time of 5:09.58.
Distance Medley Relay: Southern Wesleyan's A-Team of
Josue Avendano,
Noah Meadows,
Ludcheel Colas and
Peyton Shelton took third with a time of 10:58.68. They were followed by the B-Team of
Dane Dickson,
Jordan Blue,
Jesse Sauve and
Thomas Macagg took fifth with a time of 11:32.85.
Field Results
Long Jump:
Noah Meadows led the Warriors in the long jump with a distance of 6.23 meters to put him in 15
th. Right behind Meadows,
Calvin Fernandez took 17
th with a distance of 6.04 meters and
Valante Walker claimed 19
th with a distance of 5.98. Sam Woods took 20
th with a jump of 5.87 meters. Woods was followed by teammate
Alijah Harris with a distance of 5.81 meters to take 21
st.
Jordan Blue wrapped up the field for the Warriors as his jump of 5.06 meters put him in 24
th.
Weight Throw: Freshman
Aidan Campbell threw a distance of 12.61 meters to put him in seventh place. Following him in eighth place is
Luke Gordy with a throw of 12.37 meters.
Pole Vault:
Evan Motes took third place in the pole vault with a vault of 4.30 meters to set a new school record.
Shot Put: The Warriors were led by
Luke Gordy in the shot put. Gordy's throw of 11.78 meters put him in tenth place. He was followed by
Aidan Campbell in 15
th with a throw of 10.60 meters.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return to Columbia, SC on January 21 and 22 as they take part in the Carolina Challenge. They will then compete in the South Carolina Invitational on January 28-29 in Columbia, SC. The Warriors will compete in Johnson City, TN on February 4 and 5 at the ETSU Invite.
