Box Score 2 Due West, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell in the final two games of the three game series against the Erskine Flying Fleet in 2-1 and 11-7 final scores on Saturday.
Southern Wesleyan posted seven hits in the game one loss. Ty King Richards doubled and had a sacrifice bunt. Tyler Fuller led the team with three hits. Tanner Glass had the lone RBI during the game. Five Warriors walked and Timo Schau had two stolen bases. Bryson Fowler started game one for the Warriors, pitching six innings while striking out seven batters.
The Warriors had 10 hits in game two of the afternoon with Tanner Glass leading the team with three hits. He was followed by Ty King Richards with two hits. Both Glass and Kole Rogers had doubles during the game. Glass had two of the six RBIs. Two Warriors walked, and DJ Ludwick led the team with two of the five stolen bases. Timo Schau, King Richards and Devin Patrick also recorded stolen bases. Cole Standifer started game two of the afternoon for Southern Wesleyan. Parker Pillsbury, Devyn Bond, Vinny Adams and Sandy Johnson all pitched in relief for the Warriors. Pillsbury led the team with four strikeouts.

How It Happened
Game One
Southern Wesleyan kept Erskine off the board until the bottom of the fifth inning. However, the Warriors countered in the top of the seventh. Timo Schau led off with a walk and then advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Ty King Richards. With Schau in scoring position, Tanner Glass singled to right field to bring Schau home and allow the Warriors to tie the game. However, the Flying Fleet countered in the bottom of the inning to win game one 2-1.
Game Two
Southern Wesleyan attacked early in the top of the first inning. Timo Schau reached first after being hit by a pitch and then advanced to second on a single by Ty King Richards. With two on, Tanner Glass singled to right field to bring Schau home and put the Warriors on top 1-0. However, the lead was short lived as the Flying Fleet brought two runs of their own across home in the bottom of the inning to put them ahead 2-1.
The Warriors would not be discouraged as they attacked again in the top of the third. Tanner Glass led off with a double to center field and then advanced to third on a wild pitch. A single by Devin Patrick allowed Glass to come home and tie the game. Erskine challenged in the bottom of the third inning to extend their lead to 7-2.
In the top of seventh inning, the Warriors began to chip away at the Flying Fleet's lead. Timo Schau reached first on a drop third strike wild pitch and then advanced to second on another wild pitch. Ty King Richards followed with a walk to put two on and bring Tanner Glass up to bat. Glass singled to left field to allow Schau to come home and put the Warriors down 7-3. Tyler Fuller singled to right field to allow King Richards to come in to conclude the seventh inning.
Southern Wesleyan continued to threaten in the top of the eighth inning. With one out, DJ Ludwick singled to shortstop and then stole second base. Timo Schau reached first by being hit by a pitch. With two on, Ludwick stole third and then came in to score on an error. With Schau standing ninety-feet from home play, King Richards singled to short stop to bring in another run for the Warriors to put Southern Wesleyan within one run of Erskine.
The Flying Fleet extended their lead to 11-6 in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Warriors continued to challenge in the top of the ninth. Kole Rogers doubled to left field and then came in to score on a single Colby Jones. The Warriors fell to the Flying Fleet 11-7.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Dahlonega, GA to take on the North Georgia Nighthawks at 3 p.m. The Warriors will remain on the road on March 11 as they take on Truett-McConnell at 2 p.m. They will then welcome the King Tornado to Dr. C Keith Connor Field on March 13-14.
