Southern Wesleyan Drops Non-Conference Game to Truett-McConnell

Cleveland, GA – Southern Wesleyan dropped the non-conference game against the Truett-McConnell Bears on Wednesday in an 11-1 final score.

The Warriors recorded three hits in the loss.  Devin Patrick doubled during the game and Tanner Glass recorded a home run to bring in the lone run for the Warriors.  Tyler Fuller walked twice for Southern Wesleyan and Devin Patrick had the lone stolen base.

The Warriors had six strikeouts during the game.  Devyn Bond started the game and pitched three innings for the Warriors.  Vinny Adams, Aaron Wimpey and Cole Standifer came in to pitch in relief for the Warriors.  Adams led the team with three strikeouts.

How It Happened

Truett-McConnell took the first run of the game in the bottom of the first inning.  Southern Wesleyan countered in the top of the fourth inning.  Tanner Glass led off the inning with a home run to deep center field on a 2-0 count to allow the Warriors to tie the game 1-1.

The Bears regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-1 lead over the Warriors.  They continued to push ahead with runs in the fifth, sixth and eighth inning to win the game 11-1.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will return to Dr. C Keith Connor Field on March 13 and 14. Southern Wesleyan will host their annual Military Appreciation Game prior to game one on March 14 with special ceremonies beginning at 11:15 am.  First pitch is set to be at noon.  Southern Wesleyan will remain at home on March 17 as they welcome the Lander Bearcats to Dr. C Keith Connor Field.
