Southern Wesleyan countered in the top of the third.  With one out, Ty King Richards singled to center field and then advanced to third on a double by Timo Schau.  With two runners on, DJ Ludwick grounded out, but putting the ball in play allowed King Richards to score to put the Warriors down 2-1.

The Lions pushed further ahead in the bottom of the third, bringing three more runs across home plate.  They continued to extend their lead in the bottom of the fourth, taking a 9-1 run advantage over the Warriors.

Southern Wesleyan would not be discouraged.  Parker Pillsbury led off the inning for the Warriors, reaching first on an error by the Lions second baseman.  Dawson Posick followed Pillsbury, reaching first base as he was hit by a pitch.  With two runners on, Tyler Fuller doubled down the left field line to allow Pillsbury to score.  A ground out by Devin Patrick, brought Posick in to put the Warriors down 9-3.  The Warriors continued to put on the pressure as Sawyer Price singled to center field to bring Fuller in.  A double by Colby Jones advanced Price to third.  With runners at the corners, Ty King Richards doubled to right center to bring both Jones and Price across home plate.  A wild pitch allowed King Richards to reach third.  Timo Schau was then hit by a pitch, and then both King Richards and Schau advanced on a wild pitch to bring King Richards in to score.  Despite the late rally, the Warriors fell 7-9.
