Box Score 2 Dahlonega, G.A. - Southern Wesleyan fell to Southern Indiana in a 2-1 final and later fell to Gannon in a 3-1 final on Friday.
The Warriors posted nine hits in the game against Southern Indiana on Friday. Taylor Le, Lydia Clanton, and Haley Bertie each had two hits to lead the team. Delaney Byers, Ashton Martin, and Sequoia Wingfield each contributed one hit apiece. Martin had the lone RBI that she picked up along with her first homerun of the season. Le and Byers each drew walks, while Le and Bertie would have their first doubles of the season. Emma Collins threw the first 3.2 innings and struck out four. Delanie Laudenbacher took the mound the next 3.1 innings and had two strikeouts. Martin would come in to close out the last two innings.
In game two, the Warriors collected four hits. Clanton led with two, while Le and Addie Nugent tacked on one each. Clanton would have the only RBI that would come from her first homerun of the 2020 season. Emma Collins had the only walk and stolen base. Makayla Sexton started game two on the mound and struck out one through four innings. Laudenbacher came in as relief to strikeout five in two innings.

How It Happened
Game One
The first three innings would be scoreless between the Warriors and the Eagles. Southern Indiana would get on the board first with a homerun from Courtney Schoolcraft. The Warriors would counter with a solo homerun from Ashton Martin to even the score at 1-1 heading into the fifth inning.
Neither team would score again in the fifth, sixth, or seventh inning and the game would head into extra innings. Up until the tenth inning the score would remain tied, but the Eagles would get the go-ahead run as Emma Tucher would score on the sacrifice fly from Taylor Ricketts. Southern Wesleyan was unable to score in the bottom of the inning and Southern Indiana went on to win the game, 2-1.
Game Two
Gannon attacked early with a double from Maria Taliani that would score Sarah Ingerick in the first inning. Lydia Clanton would score for the Warriors in the top of the fourth inning with a lead-off solo homerun. In the bottom of the fourth, the Golden Knights would add on two more runs. Southern Wesleyan was unable to come out on top as they fell to Gannon, 3-1.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will conclude at the Cottrell Foundation Tournament on February 15 as they take on Gannon at 10 a.m. and West Chester at 2 p.m. They will then return home to host the Anderson Trojans on February 20 at 4 and 6 p.m.
