How It Happened
The Warriors field were led by returner Maggie Rice and freshman Taylor Reynolds. Rice led the Warriors, taking ninth in the 5K with a time of 21:46.0. She was closely followed by teammate Reynolds who crossed the finish line with a time of 21:53.3. Their times allowed both Rice and Reynolds to finish in the top 10 in the Zaxby's Open.
Kyra Hood followed Rice and Reynolds. Hood's time of 22:43.5 allowed her to finish in 15th place. Behind Hood, Alison Dickson took 26th with a time of 24:47.2. Caroline Therrell finished in 34th with a time of 26:00.8, with Taylor Broadwell right on her heels in 35th with a time of 26:08.7. Hattie Pitts and Caroline Lamb also finished in the top 40 runners as Pitts took 38th with a time of 27:15.5 and Lamb grabbed 40th with a time of 28:12.0.
Kaitlyn Spearman and Lauren West wrapped up the field for the Warriors. Spearman took 41st with a time of 28:21.9. West claimed 42nd with a time of 31:16.0.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will return to Central, SC to host the annual Warrior Invite on September 13. They will then return to the road as they travel to Charlotte, NC to take part in the Queen City Invite on September 27.
