How It Happened

The Warriors field were led by returner Maggie Rice and freshman Taylor Reynolds.  Rice led the Warriors, taking ninth in the 5K with a time of 21:46.0.  She was closely followed by teammate Reynolds who crossed the finish line with a time of 21:53.3.  Their times allowed both Rice and Reynolds to finish in the top 10 in the Zaxby's Open.

Kyra Hood followed Rice and Reynolds.  Hood's time of 22:43.5 allowed her to finish in 15^th place.  Behind Hood, Alison Dickson took 26^th with a time of 24:47.2.  Caroline Therrell finished in 34^th with a time of 26:00.8, with Taylor Broadwell right on her heels in 35^th with a time of 26:08.7.  Hattie Pitts and Caroline Lamb also finished in the top 40 runners as Pitts took 38^th with a time of 27:15.5 and Lamb grabbed 40^th with a time of 28:12.0.

Kaitlyn Spearman and Lauren West wrapped up the field for the Warriors.  Spearman took 41^st with a time of 28:21.9.  West claimed 42^nd with a time of 31:16.0.

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will return to Central, SC to host the annual Warrior Invite on September 13.  They will then return to the road as they travel to Charlotte, NC to take part in the Queen City Invite on September 27.
