Box Score 2 Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan fell to the Lander Bearcats in their final home series of the 2018 season. The Warriors lost game one 8-0 in game two 6-0.
The Warriors posted three hits in game one with Lexi Thompson recorded two of the hits. Maddie Ward had a double and Riley Herdliska had the lone walk of the first game. Josie Edwards started game one and went 4.2 innings and Hunter Hoskins came in to pitch in relief.
Maddie Ward and Addie Nugent each had a hit in the game two loss on Thursday evening. Five Warriors walked during the game. Hunter Hoskins pitched a complete game in the loss.

How It Happened
Game One
The Lander Bearcats struck early, putting two runs on the board in the top of the first to take a 2-0 lead. The Bearcats went on to score runs in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to win the game 8-0.
Game Two
The Bearcats jumped out in the first inning with two runs to take a 2-0 lead. Runs in the third and fourth put Lander on top 5-0. An inside the park home run by Syndey Grimes allowed the Bearcats to win the game 6-0.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will conclude their 2018 campaign on the road on April 21. They will travel to Tigerville, SC to take on the North Greenville Crusaders at 1 and 3 p.m.
