Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan Softball and Head Coach Drew Greer are excited to announce Bria Picou as the new pitching coach for the Warrior Softball program.

"Bria brings a tremendous amount of softball knowledge to our program, and her expertise in pitching will be an incredible asset to our student-athletes," said Vice President of Athletics Julia Reininga, "What stood out to me just as much as her knowledge was the way she connected with our players throughout the interview process. It was amazing to watch how naturally she engaged with them and how quickly they responded to her. Bria is a wonderful fit for SWU, and I am so excited to have her joining our coaching staff and helping lead the future of Warrior Softball."

Picou is currently serving as a marketing and operations coordinator for the Future Pros Baseball All-Stars where she is directly working on assisting in marketing campaigns and content creation.  She also spent time at Harvard Group International as a marketing coordinator from 2023-25.

Marketing is only one side of Picou though, as she has served as a high school softball coach in Elbert County for the last few seasons.  She has worked on developing student-athletes in both fastpitch and slow pitch softball while focusing on the fundamentals of the game.  Her specialty was pitching where she helped athletes in their mechanics, pitch development and mental approach to the game.

She attended the University of North Georgia in college where she graduated with a degree in Kinesiology with a teacher education concentration.  She served as a pitcher for the Nighthawks for three seasons.

"Bria is someone I have tremendous respect for, both as a person and as a softball coach," mentioned Coach Greer.  "Her journey through Buford High School, the University of Tennessee, and the University of North Georgia has given her an incredible understanding of what it takes to compete and succeed at a high level. What stood out to me most about Bria, though, is the person she is and the passion she has for investing in young women and helping them become better players, teammates, and people. She brings a competitive mindset, a tremendous knowledge of the game, and a genuine heart for this program. I believe she is going to make a lasting impact on our student-athletes and on the culture we are building here at Southern Wesleyan. We are incredibly fortunate to have Bria Bush Picou joining our staff, and I could not be more excited to welcome her and her family to the Warrior family."
