How It Happened

The Mountain Lions took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. They went on to score four more runs in the bottom of the seventh to lead 5-0.

In the top of the ninth inning, the Warriors countered. Quinton Bent led off the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a base hit from Julio Justo. Kirkland Gillespie came in to pinch run for Justo. Conner Ewing drew a walk and loaded up the bases. Jesse Getford was hit by a pitch to advance the runners and bring Bent in to score and put the Warriors on the board.  A wild pitch from the Mountain Lions advanced runners and allowed for Gillespie to score and put the Warriors down 5-2. Steven Perez was then up to bat and was able to draw a walk. With the bases still loaded, Ike Thalassinos walked, and Ewing came in to score.  Still in the top of the ninth, John Garrett reached on a fielder's choice and Getford scored. Perez also scored to tie the game at 5-5 on an error by the first baseman to close out the top of the inning.

Despite tying the game, Young Harris countered with a two-run homerun in the bottom of the ninth to win the game 7-5.
