Box Score 2 Central, SC – Southern Wesleyan falls in a sweep to the North Greenville Crusaders in an 11-1 and 9-2 final on Saturday afternoon.
Southern Wesleyan posted nine hits in the game one loss. Izzy Martinez led the team with three hits on the afternoon; Jesse Getford followed with two on the day. Martinez had the lone RBI of the afternoon to bring Andrew Falgiano across home plate. Mike Batten started game one and went four innings while striking out two. Batten was relieved by Vinny Adams who pitched three innings and struck out three.
The Warriors posted seven hits in the game two loss on Saturday. Andrew Falgiano led the team with three hits including a double. Devin Patrick had the two RBIs of the game when his bat brought in Hunter King and Falgiano in for runs. Southern Wesleyan had two walks during the game and Falgiano posted the lone stolen base of the game. John Garrett hit into a sacrifice bunt during the game. Southern Wesleyan posted eight strikeouts during the game. TJ McEvilly started game two of the afternoon. McEvilly went 5.1 innings while striking out two batters. Josh Core and Kyle Cook-McCrary came in to pitch in relief. Core led the team with four strike outs during 2.2 innings pitched.

How It Happened
Game One
North Greenville took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third, but the Warrior defense shut down the side to keep the Crusaders to furthering their lead. They extended their lead to 7-0 in the top of the fourth inning.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, Andrew Falgiano singled to left field and then advanced to third when Julio Justo singled to left field. With runners at the corner, Izzy Martinez singled to right field to bring Falgiano in to score. However, the Crusaders won the game in an 11-1 final score.
Game Two
The Crusaders took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning in game two. They lengthened their lead with runs in the top of the second, fourth and sixth innings to win the game in a 9-0.
Southern Wesleyan countered in the bottom of the ninth inning. Conner Ewing led off with a walk. Hunter King came in to pinch run for Ewing. With a runner on, Andrew Falgiano doubled up the middle to advance King to third base. With both runners in scoring position, Devin Patrick singled up the middle to bring both King and Falgiano in to store. However, the Warriors could not put any more runs on the board as North Greenville won in a 9-2 final.
What's Next
Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Anderson on March 28 to take on the Trojans at 6 p.m. They will then return to Dr. C Keith Connor Field as they take on the Barton Bulldogs on March 30-31.
