Records: Southern Wesleyan (1-1), Mars Hill (1-1)

Coach Morrell says…

"We started out really sluggish.  Seems it took most of the first half to find any rhythm.  But the second half was much better and I love that we fought until the final whistle.  We created a number of great chances, but couldn't get one in.  But proud of the girls for continuing to press and stay with it."

How It Happened

Mars Hill struck first in the debate on Saturday evening on a goal by Breona Tate.  The Lions held the Warriors without a shot on goal throughout the first half of the game.  Despite several shots on goal, Jen Golio kept the Lions to only one goal in the first half.

Aline Troyano and Rachel Curtis both started the second half off strong with back-to-back shots on goal.  Despite several goals, the Warriors could not pull around the Southern Wesleyan defense as Mars Hill took the win in a 1-0 final.

What's Next

The Warriors will next travel to face the North Greenville Crusaders on September 9 in their first Conference Carolinas match-up of the season at 5 p.m.  They will remain on the road on September 13 as they take on Georgia Southwestern at 5 p.m.
