How It Happened

Game One:

The Warriors were quick to start the first game when Sara Sweat and Lexi Thompson were walked back-to-back. Lizzie Fela was next and hit a sacrifice bunt to move Sweatt and Thompson to second and third. With runners in scoring position, Maddie Ward reached first on an error which brought Sweatt home and moved Thompson to third. With Thompson and Ward on base, Kelly Cooper hit her first home run of the season and brought the Warriors up 4-0 in the top of the first inning.

The Warriors were able to hold the Falcons until the bottom of the second when Pennell hit a home run to put themselves on the board. After having the bases loaded, the Sherrill was walked and brought their Walker home to shorten their gap to 4-2.

The Warriors held their lead until the bottom of the sixth when the Falcons had two on base after a single and a walk with their Fortner up to bat. She hit a three-run home run which put the Falcons up 5-4 and ultimately finished the game with this as the final score.

Game Two:

The Falcons were first to score in game two when the bases were loaded and Troutman reached on a fielder's choice and brought Pennell home making it a 1-0 game.  In the bottom of the first, Pennell hit a two-run home run and extended their lead 3-0.

Pfeiffer had a strong fourth inning when five Falcons would score.  The Warrior put themselves on the board in the top of the fifth when Kelly Cooper hit her second homerun of the season and game to put the Warriors down 8-1.  The Falcons closed the game in the bottom of the fifth when Troutman hit a sacrifice fly to center field and bring Walker home and made the final score 9-1.
