Box Score 2 Bristol, Tenn. – Southern Wesleyan fell in double header action series versus the King University Tornado on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors lost game one 9-3 and game two 4-3.
The Warriors posted five hits in the game one loss. Lizzie Fela led the Warriors with two hits, including a home run. Fela went on to lead the Warriors with three RBIs. Lexi Thompson led the Warriors with two walks. Josie Edwards pitched three innings and struck out one while facing 17 batters.
In game two, Southern Wesleyan posted six hits with Sara Sweatt and Alex Oliver led the team with two hits apiece. Oliver hit a double. Lexi Thompson and Sweatt each had an RBI in the loss. Becca White led the team with two of the four walks the Warriors had. Thompson led the team with two sacrifice bunts and a sacrifice fly, and Lizzie Fela posted the lone stolen base for the Warriors. Lucy Wolff started game two for the Warriors, pitching a complete batter while striking out one.

How It Happened
Game One
The Tornado took the lead first scoring five runs in the bottom of the third inning. Southern Wesleyan countered in the top of the fifth inning. Becca White reached first on a fielding error and then advanced to second base when Lexi Thompson walked to bring Lizzie Fela up to bat. Fela hit a three run home run to bring the game to 5-3. The rally was short lived as the Tornado scored two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and then lengthened their lead to 9-3 to win the game after scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning
Game Two
Southern Wesleyan struck first in game two of the series against the Tornado during the top of the fifth inning. Alex Oliver led off the inning with a double down the left field line and then advanced to third on a ground out by Becca White. White was followed by Sara Sweatt to hit a single up the middle to bring Oliver home and take a 1-0 lead over the Tornado. However, the Tornado countered in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at one.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Tornado took a 4-1 lead. Southern Wesleyan rallied in the top of the seventh inning. Alex Oliver singled to shortstop to lead off the inning. She advanced to second on a walk by Becca White. Both runners moved over when Sara Sweatt walked to load the bases for Lexi Thompson. Thompson hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring Oliver home. A wild pitch then proceeded to bring White home. The rally was not enough as the Warriors fell 4-3 in game two.
What's Next
The Warriors travel to Pfeiffer on April 7 to take on the Falcons at 3 and 5 p.m. before traveling on to Belmont Abbey to take on the Crusaders at 1 and 3 p.m.
