Warriors Fall to Saints

Gaffney, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan falls to Limestone Saints in a 3-0 final score.

Helen Schweiger posted the lone shot with a shot on goal for Southern Wesleyan.  Southern Wesleyan's Courtney McNeill played the all ninety minutes in goal for the Warriors.  McNeill posted 11 saves while allowing three goals.

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan kept Limestone scoreless for the first thirty minutes of play.  A goal by Khyra Reese gave the Saints a 1-0 lead going into half time.  Despite several more shots on goal, Courtney McNeill kept the Saints from putting another ball in the net until sixty minutes had elapsed on the clock before putting another goal on the board.  Helen Schweiger took a header shot on the goal, but goal keeper Veronica Smeltzer kept the ball out of the net.  The Saints won the game 3-0.

 

What's Next

Southern Wesleyan will next travel to Erskine to take on the Flying Fleet at 5 p.m. on October 18.  They will then return home to on the Chowan Hawks for homecoming on October 21 at 1 p.m.
