Box Score Southern Wesleyan managed only one shot on goal as they fell to 0-3 on the young season in the non-conference match to West Georgia.
UWG led 4-0 at the half and scored two more times to close out the match 6-0. UWG had 15 shots on goal on the night as they improved to 2-1 on the year.
"I am proud of our effort, especially down the stretch," stated head coach Corey Morrell. He added, "we played well and had control for the first 25-30 minutes, but then we started getting undisciplined and unorganized. UWG is a great team and they make you pay for your mistakes. We made too many of those tonight. Despite our mistakes, we battled to the end and did not quit. I am happy with our team's fight and we will get back to work tomorrow and be ready to open conference play on Saturday."
Morrell's squad will be at home on Saturday at 3pm as they host Lees-McRae at the friendly confines of Child's Field.
Rachel Curtis had the lone shot on goal for SWU, while Courtney McNeill had six saves and Ashley Arredondo had three saves on the night.
