Southern Wesleyan battled Mars Hill in a tight non-conference match before losing 2-1.

Mars Hill improves to 2-5-1 with the win, while SWU drops to 1-7 overall on the year.

Leah Hairfield scored the winning goal in the 83rd minute helping MHU to the victory.  Rachel Curtis scored the lone goal for SWU.

Courtney McNeil had eight saves on the night, while Maslyn Greene countered with five.  SWU posted six shots on goal and Mars Hill had ten.

SWU will travel to Belmont Abbey this Saturday for a noon start.
