Wilson, N.C. - Southern Wesleyan battled Barton close the entire match, but was unable to close out the win in a Conference Carolinas match this afternoon.

The loss drops SWU to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference, while Barton improves to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference.

SWU outshot Barton with ten shots on goal compared to Barton's five. The match was scoreless until the second half when Barton took a 1-0 lead. SWU countered in the 64th minute as Lily Troyano scored with the assist going to Kayla Doyle.  Eleven seconds later Barton responded with the eventual game winning goal.

Courtney McNeil had three saves for SWU.

SWU will be back in action on September 28 as they host Mars Hill in the friendly confines of Child's Field.
