BOONE, N.C.- Southern Wesleyan's women's cross country team ran at the Covered Bridge Open hosted by Appalachian State and placed ninth out of ten teams.

Hanan Balawi led the Warriors in the 5000 meter race with a 62^nd place finish out of 97 runners in 21:37. Other scorers for Southern Wesleyan included Michelle last in 71^st overall (22:10), Alana Grant in 72^nd (22:10), Abby Welch in 84^th (22:57), and Sarah Cash in 85^th (23:00).

Also competing for the Warriors were Ashley Rhodes in 25:59 (92^nd), Shavon Fields in 28:25 (96^th), and Jordan Hargrave in 29:07 (97^th).

The Warriors will next compete at the Lenoir Rhyne Invitational hosted by Lenoir Rhyne Sept. 9.
