Southern Wesleyan Earns First Win of Season

CENTRAL, S.C. - Southern Wesleyan University (1-4) defeated non-conference opponent Toccoa Falls College (2-3-1) by a final score of 3-0, in women's soccer action on Wednesday evening at Childs Field.

The Warriors received 2 goals from Rachel Curtis, while Marla Burgos added 1 goal. Charlie Brown assisted 2 of SWU's goals and Kayla Doyle assisted on the other.

Curtis scored in the 17th minute of action for the early 1-0 lead, coming off the assist from Brown. Burgos scored in the 40th minute to help the home team go into intermission with a 2-0 advantage.

Doyle was able to find Curtis for the goal in the 71st minute of action for the final tally.

SWU held a 15-3 advantage in shots and a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Warriors will travel to conference opponent Pfeiffer University on Saturday, September 17th for a 5:00 PM kick-off. #teamSWU
