Box Score 2 CENTRAL, S.C- Southern Wesleyan batted .246 in its 3-2 win and 8-1 loss against King.
In game one, the Warriors (16-32, 4-23 CC) scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning as Matt Costa hit a two-RBI double that drove in Brad Bisko and Conner Ewing. Avery Mahon doubled to score DiMarkus Sanders in the bottom of the second to give them a 3-0 lead. The Tornado (17-30, 9-17 CC) scored one run in the top of the third to cut the deficit to two runs. King was able to cut the lead to one run in the top of the seventh as they scored one run with two outs in the inning. Southern Wesleyan walked their next batter to put the winning run at home plate. The Warriors forced a fly out to seal the win.
Bisko went 2-for-3 with one run. Ewing batted 2-for-3 with one run. Costa went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a double.
J.J. Julian (2-4) pitched a complete game, allowed two runs on three hits, and tied his season-high with nine strikeouts.
In game two, King scored three runs in the second and fourth innings for a 6-0 lead. Luke Hostetler singled to drive in Bisko in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 6-1 game. The Tornado added one run in the eighth and ninth inning. They held the Warriors to five hits and struck out seven batters.
Southern Wesleyan next hosts North Georgia for its final home game of the season April 27 at 6 p.m.
