Warriors Down Trojans

CENTRAL, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan had nine hits in its 5-2 win against Anderson and they won all four games that the teams played this season.

The Trojans (19-27) got on the board first as they scored two runs in the top of the first inning. The Warriors (14-30) scored one run in the bottom of the third as DiMarkus Sanders singled to drive in Trevor Walker. They added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth as Walker singled to score Luke Hostetler and Sanders hit his second triple of the season to drive in Walker. Southern Wesleyan stretched their lead to three runs as Davis Kippen scored Brad Bisko with a bunt in the bottom of the eighth. After allowing three hits and two runs in the top of the first, the Warriors held Anderson to four hits the rest of the way to clinch the win.

Walker went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, two runs, and a double. Sanders batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a triple. Hostetler went 1-for-3 with one run.

Andrew Howard (4-3) pitched his first complete game of the season, allowed two runs off of seven hits, and had three strikeouts. In two games this year against the Trojans, Howard has only allowed two runs and struck out eight batters.

Southern Wesleyan next hosts Shorter tomorrow April 20 at 6 p.m.
