Box Score 2 TIGERVILLE, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan left ten runners on base in its 6-1 and 3-2 losses to North Greenville.
In game one, the Warriors (19-27, 8-14 CC) got on the board first as Tiffany Cathey singled and Natalie Johnson scored off of a throwing error by the second baseman in the top of the third inning. The Crusaders (21-22, 7-11 CC) tied the game in the bottom of the third as they scored one run. They added two runs in the fourth and three runs in the sixth for a five run lead. Southern Wesleyan was able to put one runner on base in the top of the seventh, but they were unable to drive in any runs to seal the win for the Crusaders.
In game two, North Greenville scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 2-0 lead. Southern Wesleyan tied the game in the top of the fifth as Natalie Johnson doubled to score Katie Byrd and Tiffany Cathey drove in Johnson with a single. The Crusaders regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth as they scored one run. The Warriors were held hitless in the sixth and seventh innings to clinch the victory for North Greenville.
Johnson went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run. Cathey batted 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Hunter Hoskins (11-9) pitched six innings, allowed three runs off of six hits, and had two strikeouts.
This wraps up the regular season for Southern Wesleyan. They will next play in the NCCAA South Region Tournament hosted by Judson College May 12-14.
