Box Score 2 CENTRAL, S.C.- Seniors Allison Barbee and Ashleigh Wilbur combined to bat 6-for-11 with four RBIs and two runs in Southern Wesleyan's 6-2 loss and 5-3 win against Pfeiffer on Senior Day.
In game one, the Warriors (19-24, 8-12 CC) got on the board in the bottom of the first inning as Lizzie Fela singled to score Sara Sweatt. The Falcons (29-14, 15-4 CC) scored five runs in the top of the third for a 5-1 lead. Barbee drove in Sweatt with a double in the bottom of the third to cut the deficit to three runs. Pfeiffer added another run in the top of the sixth to stretch their lead to three runs. Southern Wesleyan went three up and three down in both the sixth and seventh innings to close out the win for the Falcons.
Sweatt went 2-for-4 with two runs. Barbee batted 2-for-3 with one RBI and a double. Fela went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Barbee pitched four innings, allowed one run off of two hits, and had one strikeout.
In game two, Pfeiffer scored one run in the top of the first. Southern Wesleyan responded with two runs in the bottom of the first as Barbee singled to drive in Sweatt and Barbee stole home for a 2-1 lead. Barbee drove Sweatt in again in the bottom of the third with a sacrifice fly to left field. The Falcons cut the deficit to one run with one run of their own in the top of the fifth. The Warriors responded again with two more runs as Barbee scored Sweatt for the third time with a double and Fela drove in Barbee with a single. Pfeiffer scored one run in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to two runs. They managed to put two runners on base with two outs in the top of the seventh, but Southern Wesleyan forced a pop out to seal the victory.
Sweatt went 3-for-3 with three runs. Barbee batted 2-for-2 with three RBIs, two runs, and a double. Fela went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Hunter Hoskins pitched a complete game and allowed three runs off of ten hits.
The Warriors will wrap up their regular season on the road against North Greenville April 19 with a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
