Box Score 2 CENTRAL, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan allowed 32 runs in its 18-3 and 14-6 losses to North Greenville.
In game one, the Crusaders (13-6, 6-0 CC) scored three runs in the top of the first inning. They stretched their lead to ten runs with another seven runs in the top of the third. Matt Costa drove in DiMarkus Sanders with a single in the bottom of the third to put the Warriors ((8-11, 0-6) on the board. North Greenville added three more runs in the top of the fourth and one run in the top of the fifth. Southern Wesleyan added another run in the bottom of the sixth as Julio Justo hit a homerun to left field. The Crusaders stretched their lead to 16 with four more runs in the top of the seventh. John Garrett reached first base on a fielder's choice which drove in Brandon Pruitt in the bottom of the seventh.
Tyler Rio (1-3) pitched 3.1 innings, allowed ten earned runs off of nine hits, and had three strikeouts.
In game two, The Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning. North Greenville responded with nine runs in the top of the second for a 9-5 lead. They added two more runs in the top of the third to stretch their lead to six runs. Sanders drove in Justo with a single and Costa hit a sacrifice fly to score Trevor Walker in the bottom of the third. The Crusaders scored three runs in the top of the eighth to stretch their lead to eight runs. Southern Wesleyan left seven runners on base in the last five innings of the game to seal the win for North Greenville.
Josh Core (0-3) pitched 1.2 innings, allowed nine runs off of seven hits, and had one strikeout.
The Warriors next travel to Mars Hill March 8 for a 2 p.m. game.
