Box Score 2 CENTRAL, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan batted .446 in its 9-7 and 8-7 wins over Point.
In game one, the Skyhawks (14-8) put two runs on the board in the top of the first inning. The Warriors (10-8) responded with four runs in the bottom of the first. They added two more runs in the bottom of the second Lizzie Fela doubled to score Tiffany Cathey and Sara Sweatt to stretch their lead to four runs. Cathey added another run in the bottom of the fourth as she scored off of an error by the first baseman. Point tied the game with three runs in the top of the fifth and two runs in the top of the sixth. Southern Wesleyan regained the lead as they responded with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Skyhawks had one batter ground out and two batters fly out to end the game.
Allison Barbee went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs, a double, and a home run. Fela batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs, one run, and a double. Cathey went 1-for-3 with three runs and a stolen base.
Lucy Wolff (4-2) pitched a complete game, allowed seven runs on ten hits, and had one strikeout.
In game two, Point scored two runs in the top of the first for an early two run lead. They added another run in the top of the third to stretch the lead to three runs. The Warriors cut the deficit to one run with as they scored two runs in the bottom of the third. Sweatt hit a two-RBI single to centerfield to give them a one-run lead. They stretched their lead to five runs with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. In the top of the seventh, Point scored four runs without registering an out to cut the lead to one run. Southern Wesleyan forced the next three batters to ground out to seal the victory.
Sweatt went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs, and a triple. Ashleigh Wilbur went 2-for-3 with two runs and a double.
Hunter Hoskins (6-3) pitched a complete game, allowed seven runs on nine hits, and had three strikeouts.
The Warriors next travel to Newberry March 8 at 1 p.m.
