Box Score 2 CENTRAL, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan left 15 runners on base in its 5-1 and 6-4 losses to Barton.
In game one, the Bulldogs (20-10, 10-5 CC) scored one run in the top of the third inning and four runs in the top of the fifth for a 5-0 lead. They held the Warriors (10-21, 2-13 CC) scoreless until the bottom of the seventh when John Garrett singled to drive in Justin Brew. Their next two batters grounded out to end the game with two runners left on base.
Bryce Bearden (1-3) pitched five innings, allowed one earned run off of eight hits, and had three strikeouts.
In game two, Southern Wesleyan struck first with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. Barton responded by scoring one run in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to cut the deficit to one run. In the top of the ninth, the Bulldogs scored three runs to take the lead for the first time in the game. The Warriors went three up and three down in the bottom of the ninth to seal the win for Barton.
Tyler Rio started the game, pitched six innings, and allowed three runs off of six hits.
Brad Bisko went 2-for-5 with one run. Luke Hostetler batted 2-for-5 with one run, one RBI, and a double. Avery Mahon went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a double.
Southern Wesleyan next hosts Anderson March 30 at 6 p.m.
