Box Score 2 MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.- Southern Wesleyan left 12 runners on base in its 8-0 loss and 4-0 win against Mount Olive.
In game one, the Trojans (15-15, 3-3 CC) scored in five of the six innings in the game. The Warriors (13-17, 2-6 CC) were held to four hits.
In game two, both teams were held scoreless until the top of the sixth inning. They scored three runs in the inning as Katie Byrd drove in Allison Barbee with a single, Kelly Cooper drove in Lizzie Fela with a single, and Ashleigh Wilbur drove in Byrd with a sacrifice fly. They forced two groundouts and a pop out in the bottom of the sixth to retain their 3-0 lead heading into the seventh. The Warriors added some cushion to their lead with another run in the top of the seventh as Sara Sweatt scored off of an error by the third baseman. They allowed two hits in the bottom of the seventh, but no runs as they shutout the Trojans.
Byrd went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run. Sweatt batted 2-for-4 with one run and a double. Fela went 1-for-2 with one run.
The Warriors next travel to Barton tomorrow March 22 for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
