Box Score 2 MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.- Southern Wesleyan left 13 runners on base in its 8-4 and 7-0 losses to Mount Olive.
In game one, the Trojans (12-10, 6-5 CC) struck first as they scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Warriors (10-17, 2-9 CC) scored one run in the top of the third as Conner Ewing drove in Matt Costa with a single to right field. Mount Olive added another run in the bottom of the fifth to stretch their lead to four runs. Julio Justo scored on a groundout by John Garrett to cut the deficit back down to three runs. The Trojans added two runs in the sixth and one run in the seventh for an 8-2 lead. Southern Wesleyan cut the lead to five runs as Ewing scored on a groundout by Brad Bisko. In the top of the ninth, the Warriors scored a run with two outs as Costa scored DiMarkus Sanders with a sacrifice fly to right field. Their next batter struck out to end the game.
Ewing went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run. Sanders batted 3-for-5 with one run. Costa have an RBI and one run.
Tyler Rio (2-4) pitched five innings, allowed four earned runs off of six hits and had one strikeout.
In game two, Mount Olive scored three runs in the first, one run in the second, and three runs in the fifth inning. Southern Wesleyan had four hits and left four runners on base.
