Box Score GAFFNEY, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan scored four or more runs in two different innings in its 12-4 win against Limestone.
The Warriors (9-12, 1-6 CC) started the game off strong as they batted around in the top of the first inning and scored six runs. The Saints (10-15, 1-6 CC) scored one run in the bottom of the first. DiMarkus Sanders singled to drive in Brad Bisko in the top of the third to stretch their lead to six runs. Limestone cut the lead to four runs as they scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Warriors put the game away for good with one run in the top of the eighth and four runs in the top of the ninth. The Saints were able to score a run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, but that was all they could muster.
Sanders had a season-high four hits and four RBIs. He also scored a run and had one walk. John Garrett batted 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs. Luke Hostetler went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs. Bisko batted 3-for-4 with two RBIs, one run, and one triple.
Tyler Rio (2-3) got the win as he pitched 6.1 innings, allowed three runs off of four hits, and had two strikeouts.
Southern Wesleyan will finish up the rest of their three-game series against Limestone tomorrow March 12 with a 12 p.m. doubleheader.
