Warriors Outscore Trojans in High-Scoring Game

ANDERSON, S.C.- Southern Wesleyan scored three or more runs in three different innings in its 16-11 win against Anderson.

The Trojans (5-10) scored first as they put up three runs in the bottom of the first inning and one run in the bottom of the second. The Warriors (8-8) responded with five runs in the top of the third to give them a 5-4 lead. Anderson tied the game with one run in the bottom of the third. Southern Wesleyan regained the lead as they scored five more runs in the top of the fourth inning for a 10-5 lead. The Trojans added another run in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to four runs.

The Warriors added another run in the top of the sixth as Brad Bisko hit a double to drive in Devin Patrick. Anderson scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to cut the lead to two runs. Southern Wesleyan stretched their lead out to seven with three runs in the top of the eighth and two runs in the top of the ninth. They allowed the Trojans to score two more runs in the top of the ninth, but forced the final out of the inning to seal the win.

Patrick went 3-for-5 with five runs, three RBIs, two walks, and two triples. Bisko batted 4-for-6 with two RBIs and one run. John Garrett went 2-for-3 with two runs, one RBI, and four walks.        

Bryce Bearden (1-1) picked up the win as he pitched two innings and allowed one run on four hits.

The Warriors next host North Greenville for a three-game series that begins March 4 at 4 p.m.
