Box Score Warriors score four goals, but are unable to gain a victory in high scoring match against Converse.
It was a high scoring game in Spartanburg, S.C. as the Warriors took on the Converse Valkyries. The Valkyries struck with the first two goals in the first half. However, the Warriors did not let the first half end without a goal by Rachel Curtis, her eighth goal of the season.
During the second half, the goals starting flying on both sides. Converse struck first bringing the game to 3-1. The Warriors countered with a goal by Kayla Doyle. The Valkyries scored once again, but Lily Troyano countered with another goal. Doyle got another goal for the Warriors, tying the game 4-4. However, the Valkyries were not done as they scored two more goals in the next minutes of the game, winning the match 6-4.
Courtney McNeill contributed with 7 saves in the loss. The Warriors took a total of 14 shots on goal during the game. Doyle, Beth Spence and Grace Taylor all gained assists in the game. The loss makes the Warrior record become 4-11-1 and 2-7-1 in Conference Carolinas play. The Converse Valkyries become 8-8-1 and 4-6-0.
The Warriors will return home to play against University of Mount Olive on October 29 at 1 p.m. The game will also be the Warriors' Senior Night at Childs Field.
