Warriors Gain First Conference Win in Women's Soccer

The Warriors score twice giving them their first win of the season in Conference Carolinas play.

The Warriors took on the Flying Fleet in a fierce contest on a beautiful, cool evening.  Southern Wesleyan scored first with a goal by freshman forward Rachel CurtisKayla Doyle scored the second Warrior goal at the top of the second half of the game.  The Flying Fleet threatened several times over the second half, but they were only able to score once against the Warriors.

Courtney McNeil contributed with 8 saves during the game.  The goal by Curtis was her seventh goal of the season, while Doyle's goal was her second.

The win for the Southern Wesleyan University Warriors brings their record up to 3-9 in season play.  This is the first win for the Warriors in Conference Carolinas play, making their record rise to 1-5.  The Erskine College Flying Fleet becomes 3-9 and 2-5 in Conference play.

The Warriors will travel to Emmanuel on Saturday, October 15th before traveling to King on Wednesday, October 19th.  They will return home for Southern Wesleyan University's Homecoming weekend on October 22 to take on the North Greenville University Crusaders at 1 p.m.
