Belmont Abbey Drops SWU in Women's Soccer

Southern Wesleyan produced an early lead today, but it wasn't enough as Belmont Abbey claimed the Conference Carolinas win 4-1.

Meo Owens scored early for SWU off an assist by Lily Troyano, but Belmont Abbey countered with four unanswered goals to take the conference win.  Belmont Abbey improves to 6-2-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.  The loss drops SWU to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

The match was knotted at 1-1 until early in the second half. Chandler Arrowood started the scoring in the second half for Belmont Abbey to secure the win.

SWU could only muster one shot on goal, which proved to be the lone goal by Owens.  Belmont Abbey had 14 shots on goal with SWU's Courtney McNeil collecting ten saves.

The Warriors will host Columbia International on October 5 at 5pm.
