Box Score CENTRAL, S.C. - The Southern Wesleyan women's soccer team fell 6-0 to King on Wednesday night to open the conference slate. With the loss the Warriors fall to 1-3 on the season and 0-1 in Conference Carolinas while King moves to 3-1-1 and 2-0 in conference.
Miranda Smith got the scoring started first for the Tornado as she contributed back to back goals within a minute of each other about 10 minutes into the game. The goals, her second and third of the year were assisted by Kendyl Baird and Paula Doran (off of a corner kick). The Tornado 2-0 lead would hold until the half.
Smith would go on to assist on the third goal of the game off the foot of Rachel Thorpe, her second goal of the season. Lindsay Curtis, Hulda Sigurdadottir and Kara Garrett would add goals of their own and Baird and Doran would pick up their second assists.
The Warriors took five shots and Courtney McNeill tallied 14 saves in goal.
Southern Wesleyan returns to action Saturday, Sept. 19 at Lees-McRae at 3 p.m.
