Men's Cross Country Finishes 18th at NCCAA Nationals

HOUGHTON, N.Y. - The Southern Wesleyan men's cross country team recorded an 18th place finish in the NCCAA National Championship held in cold and windy upstate New York on Saturday, Nov. 14. 

The Warriors finished with a total time of 2:30:13 and an average time of 30:02. Cedarville won the race with a total time of 2:08 and an average time of 25:44. 

136 runners competed in the 8K event. John Fredrickson was the top runner for the Warrirors as the senior finished the course with a time of 28:30. The native of Anderson averaged a 5:44 mile. Fredrickson was the top runner for Southern Wesleyan for most of the fall season.

Three Warriors finished the race neck and neck as Andrew Hochhalter, Robert Gwinn and Jon Gibbon finished 123rd, 124th, and 125th, respectively. Hochhalter's time was 30:16 while Gwinn finished in 30:18 and Gibbon in 30:28. 

Mason Simms finished in 127th place with a time of 30:40 and teammates Caleb George (32:36.7) and Brennan Cameli (32:36.9) finished in 131st and 132nd place. 

The NCCAA Championship concluded the fall season for the Warriors.
