Warriors Finish 23rd at Sand Shark Invitational

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - The Southern Wesleyan men's cross country team finished 23rd in a field of 30 teams at the Sand Shark Invitational, hosted by USC Beaufort on Oct. 24. The Warriors' average time in the 8K race was 29:23. 

Senior John Fredrickson was the top runner for Southern Wesleyan with a 55th place finish. Fredrickson finished with a time of 27:09. Robert Gwinn had the second best time of the day for the Warriors. The junior finished in 29:03, good enough for 119th place.

Andrew Hochhalter, a senior, finished in 29:44 (153rd place) and Caleb George finished close behind with a time of 30:22 (156th place). John Gibbon recorded a time of 30:35 (159th place), while Mason Sims and Erik Medina finished with times of 30:39 and 30:42, respectively. Brennan Cameli finished the race in 31:45 (227th place) and William Akridge posted a time of 34:37. 

With the performance, the men's team qualified for NCCAA nationals held Nov. 14 in Houghton, N.Y. 

The men's team concludes the fall regular season on Saturday, Oct. 31 in the Toccoa Falls Invitational in Toccoa Falls, Ga.
