Box Score TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. - The Southern Wesleyan women's soccer team shutout Toccoa Falls 2-0 on Wednesday afternoon on the road. With the win the Warriors improve to 2-11 on the season.
Both Warrior goals were scored in the second half of play. Marla Burgos netted the first goal of the game for the Warriors as the sophomore defender scored off of a corner kick. The goal, assisted by Brittany Woodhouse, was the first of the season for Burgos.
About 15 minutes later, teammate Grace Taylor followed with a goal to extend the Warrior lead. Taylor took a shot that hit the crossbar and the shot rebounded to Woodhouse who crossed it back to Taylor for the finish. The goal was the third of the season for Taylor, the leading goal scorer for the Warriors.
Southern Wesleyan returns to action Friday, Oct. 23 at North Greenville at 7 p.m. The Warriors return home Saturday, Oct. 31 against Pfeiffer in the final home game of the season. The game is also homecoming and senior day for five players.
