GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Southern Wesleyan women's cross country team ran the Gene Mullin Invitational's 5K with a total time of 1:57:23, good enough for ninth place in the field of 11 teams. The race, held Oct. 10, was at the Furman Golf Course.
Alana Grant had the best time of the day for the Warriors. Grant finished in 27th place with a time of 21:27. Michelle Last finished in 38th place with a time of 22:18 while Sarah Cash recorded a time of 23:28. Becky Tarone ran the course in 24:25 and teammate Ashley Rhodes followed with a time of 25:08.
Ann-Marie Martin completed the course in 25:46 followed by teammate Malecha Cousar with a time of 26:20. Jordan Hargrave recorded a time of 29:30.
Host school Furman won the event with a total time of 1:35:42. Georgia Tech, Milligan, Gardner-Webb, and Brenau rounded out the top five.
The Warriors return to the course on Saturday, Oct. 24 in the Sand Shark Invitational. The race is held in Hardeeville, S.C. and is hosted by USC-Beaufort.
