SWU women's soccer dropped by Barton

WILSON, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's soccer fell to Barton by the score of 4-0 on Saturday night in a matchup of teams from Conference Carolinas.

The Warriors managed nine shots including four on goal but were unable to come up with a goal for the fourth straight match.  Grace Taylor led the Warriors with four shots while Beth Spence took three and put two on frame.

Barton struck early with a goal just 12:54 in as Lane Brooks found the back of the net.  Grace Fehan added a goal just minutes before halftime to take a 2-0 lead into the break.  SWU kept pace in the second half, firing off six of their nine shots after intermission while Barton took eight of their 17 shots. 

The Bulldogs added on to their 2-0 lead with a goal in the 71st minute from Ashley Batchelor and finished the scoring with an 84th minute goal from Kasey Byzewski.

The Warriors return home to host Toccoa Falls on Tuesday at Childs Field. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
