Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

CENTRAL, S.C. – After getting off to a hot start in game two the Warriors fell in game two to Limestone, 13-9 after narrowly losing game one 4-1 to the Saints.

The Warriors are back in action, at home, on Friday as they welcome new SSAC opponent Martin Methodist for a doubleheader at 5 p.m.

Game One – Box Score
Southern Wesleyan collected just four hits as Limestone scored three in the top of the sixth to pull out a 4-1 victory in game one.  The Saints picked up five of their nine hits in that sixth inning including a two-run single from pinch-hitter Carissa Snyder.

The Warriors scored their lone run in the fourth to tie the game at 1-1.  Sara Sweatt started the rally with a two-out infield single and Ashleigh Wilbur followed with a double to deep left-center field.  That double was the lone extra base hit for the Warriors in the game.  Sweatt's hit in the fourth was the first hit for SWU in the game.

SWU was poised to take the lead in the fifth with the game tied at 1-1.  Katie Jacoby led off the inning with an infield single and Shelby Stroud followed with a pinch-hit walk.  After Savannah Carpenter reached on an error the bases were loaded with no one out.  M.C. Garrett lined out sharply to the third basemen who was playing in and she promptly threw a tag down on Jacoby who was leading off of third.  After the double play Allison Barbee bounced into a fielder's choice to end the inning.

Jenn Jacoby took the tough-luck loss for the Warriors to fall to 3-2 on the season.  Jacoby tossed a complete game, allowing nine hits and four runs.  She walked three and struck out three.  Kelly Shearer went the distance for the Saints, allowing just four hits and one run.  She walked one and struck out one to improve to 8-3 on the year.

Game Two – Box Score
The Warriors put up five runs in the first thanks in large part to Ashleigh Wilbur.  Wilbur blasted her second homer of the season, a three-run shot, scoring Lizzie Fela and Sara Sweatt.  Sweatt knocked in a run with a single earlier in the inning.  Allison Barbee scored on a wild pitch between Sweatt's single and Wilbur's blast.

That was all the offense for a while for SWU as Limestone scored 13 unanswered runs from the second through the top of the fifth.  The saints put up two runs in each of the second and third innings and added a five-spot in the fourth.  Limestone followed with four in the fifth.  SWU needed three pitchers to get through the fourth and needed their fourth pitcher of the night to get through the fifth.  Barbee had the most success, allowing just two hits and striking out four in 2.2 scoreless innings.

The Warriors got back on the board in the bottom of the fifth as Shelby Stroud knocked in two with a big double to right-center, scoring Sweatt and Wilbur.  Callie Wayne followed with a double of her own to score Stroud.  SWU scored another run in the seventh as M.C. Garrett scored on an error.
