TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. – Southern Wesleyan men's cross country wrapped up the regular season with a second place finish at the Toccoa Falls Invitational on Saturday.
Junior John Fredrickson led the team with a 6th place finish, turning in a time of 28:19 while three more SWU runners finished in the top-11. Stephen Spearman placed 8th with a time of 28:35 on the 8K course while Robert Gwinn earned a top-10 placement at 10th overall after running a time of 29:15. Andrew Hochhalter was 11th overall at 29:42, just one second ahead of Columbia International's Blake Tindle.
The Warriors scored 49 points in the meet but Bob Jones saw all five scorers finish in the top-9 and finished the meet with 28 points. Columbia International had runners place first and second overall but managed a fourth place showing for the team. Drew Lindman won the race by two seconds over teammate Scott Swier, turning in a mark of 27:10.
Jacob Rivera rounded out the scorers for the Warriors, placing 14th with a time of 29:58. Erik Delgado (19th, 30:35), Jon Gibbon (24th, 31:36) and Brennan Cameli (25th, 32:05) also competed for the Warriors.
The Warriors will take a week off before heading to New York and Houghton College for the NCCAA National Championship on Nov. 15.
