HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's cross country turned in a solid showing at the Sand Shark Invitational on Saturday morning, placing 17th in the massive 37-team field.
Sierra Zemanick had the best showing on the day for the Warriors, placing 45th in the field of 347. The senior clocked in a 19:16.18. Jessy Scarpone from SCAD Savannah won the race by nine seconds after running a 17:30.02 on the 5K course.
Alana Grant also finished in the top third at 90th with a time of 20:02.18 while Michelle Last came in at 100th, just eight seconds behind Grant. Fellow freshman Shy'Keya Wimberly came in at 129th, posting a time of 20:50.90 while Emily Harper closed out the scorers for the Warriors at 137th with a time of 20:59.91.
The Warriors close out the regular season next Saturday at Toccoa Falls before heading to New York on Nov. 15 for the NCCAA National Meet.
