Women's Soccer Falls on the Road to North Greenville

Box Score

TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's soccer fell to North Greenville University 1-0 on Saturday despite out-shooting the Crusaders 9-7.

A 12th minute goal by Hope Martin was the lone score on the day as NGU improved to 1-1 with the win while SWU falls to 1-2-1.  Four of the Warriors seven second half shots came in the final six minutes but NGU goalkeeper Kathryn Tate made a pair of her six stops.

The Warriors were led by three players – Grace Taylor, Ruva Chimedza and Leah Moorefield – who all took two shots.  Both of Taylor's shots were on frame.  SWU put 67% of their shots on target but were unable to come away with the equalizer.

The Warriors will have a week to regroup before heading to Gaffney to take on Limestone on Saturday, Sept. 14.
