SWU Women's Soccer Blanked by Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's soccer was overmatched against Limestone College on Saturday afternoon, losing 4-0 in their first match in a week.

  
The Warriors (1-3-1) allowed three goals in the first 20 minutes and were never able to recover.  Lauren Lanham and Gabriella Reid each scored two goals and Reid added an assist for Limestone (1-2-1) who picked up their first win of the season.


SWU was limited to just seven shots but did well to put four of those on frame.  Bri Hydes and Grace Taylor led the way with two shots each.  Goalkeeper Krista Anonie was under pressure all day long, facing 18 shots including 12 on target.  The sophomore made eight saves.  Mariette Martinez made four stops for Limestone.


Southern Wesleyan will return home to host Point (Ga.) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in their final match before entering SSAC play.
