SWU Women Take 6th at SSAC Meet

CLINTON, Miss. – The Southern Wesleyan women's cross country team finished sixth at the Southern States Athletic Conference meet at Choctaw Trails.


Brenau won the women's title by just one point over Emmanuel but both teams will head to the NAIA meet in two weeks.


Rebecca Watson led the Warriors with a 20th place finish in a time of 19:58.  Sierra Zemanick was just seven seconds behind Watson, placing 23rd overall.  Emmanuel's Andrea Langley won the race in a time of 18:59.


Emily Harper took 43rd for the Warriors with a time of 21:07 and Kira Emmett was 48th with a time of 21:22.  Rounding out the scorers for SWU was Caroline Hudson who placed 53rd with a time of a 21:39.


The Warriors will head to Cedarville, Ohio next weekend to run in the NCCAA National Meet hosted by Cedarville University.
