Box Score MT. VERNON, Ga. – Southern Wesleyan women's soccer snapped a nine-match losing streak with a 4-2 win on the road against Brewton-Parker in SSAC action.
The Warriors (3-12-1, 1-9-0 SSAC) took an early two goal lead as Grace Taylor netted a pair of goals within three minutes in the 14th and 17th minutes. BPC bounced back to tie the match at 2-2 as Jodie Collier scored a goal in the 25th and 55th minute.
SWU had to play for the first time without keeper Krista Anonie who had to leave the match in the first match due to injury. Bre Kowaleski came in and play effectively as the Warriors scored twice more to pick up the win.
Brittany Woodhouse tallied the game-winner in the 59th minute and was followed by Abbie McDonald in the 74th minute. Taylor's two goals give her a team-high four on the season. Woodhouse has three and it was the first goal for McDonald.
The Warriors will close out the season on Saturday, hosting Brenau at 5 p.m.
