Women's Cross Country Takes 13th in Sandshark Invite

BEAUFORT, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's cross country placed 13th of 21 teams at the Sandshark Invitational hosted by South Carolina-Beaufort on Saturday morning.


The Warriors had all five scorers in the race finish in the top half of the over 200 racer field.  Rebecca Watson led the way for SWU, placing 39th with a time of 19:47.  Sierra Zemanick placed 56th in a time of 20:09.


SWU finished with 339 points in the race as Milligan won with a total of 82 points.  Embry-Riddle's Ellie Staker took home the individual title with a time of 17:41 on the 5K course.


Other finishers for the Warriors included Emily Harper (74th, 20:39), Kira Emmett (76th, 20:44), and Caroline Hudson (94th, 21:29).

The Warriors will take a week off before heading to Clinton, Miss. to run in the SSAC Championships on Nov. 9.
