Box Score CENTRAL, S.C. – Southern Wesleyan women's soccer fell by the score of 2-0 to Faulkner University on Friday night.
The Warriors (2-11-1, 0-8-0 SSAC) looked ready to hang with the Lady Eagles (6-9-0, 3-5-0 SSAC), creating chances early as Grace Taylor and Brittany Woodhouse put pressure on the Faulkner defense. Nonetheless SWU was unable to find the back of the net for the sixth straight match.
Faulkner scored first in the 17th minute as Chelsea Jones found the back of the net off of a pass from Janina Mueller. Mueller was at it again in the 87th minute, hooking up with Katie Eaton for the final goal.
Faulkner took 19 shots in the game, putting 10 on goal. Krista Anonie made eight saves for the Warriors while her counterpart, Tia Rogers, needed to make just three saves for a shutout. SWU took just seven shots in the match.
The Warriors will host Auburn-Montgomery on Saturday at 5 p.m. during Homecoming weekend.
