Women's Soccer Falls to Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. –Southern Wesleyan women's soccer lost 2-0 to Emmanuel College on Saturday night.

 
The Warriors have dropped five straight by the score of 2-0 and fall to 2-10-1 overall on the season and 0-7 in the SSAC.  Emmanuel improves to 5-7-1 overall and 2-5 in the SSAC.  The win gives the Lions their first points in the Lil' Bronze Peach series this year.


Emmanuel's Liene Vaciete broke open the scoring in the 36th minute, a score that would hold into the second half.  The Warriors managed just one shot in the first period.  The Lions knocked home the final goal in the 62nd minute as Nikita Bestwick scored after a deflected header.


SWU finished with four shots overall and put two on target.  Krista Anonie stopped six of Emmanuel's shots.  The Lions took 15 shots in the game.


The Warriors will be back in action on Friday, October 25 as part of Homecoming Weekend to host Faulkner at 5 p.m.
